Goodbye Jackie
Tamra loved you.
Tamra started watching Jackie in 2018. Every morning she checked in on the nest. It was one of the ways she relaxed away from the anger she felt about what was happening in America. Every morning I’d make Tamra a cup of coffee. She’d say yum as I set it down by her. She’d sip while watching the drama: the romance, the eggs, the chicks, the snow, the raven attack, Fiona the daredevil squirrel, the deaths of chicks, the eaglets growing up and flapping their wings for the first time as they prepared to fly, and first flight which inspired that smile that lit up my life.
Tamra would bring her iPad over to me to show me the latest news. She said it was good for me. Tamra amplified and supported the protests and fundraisers whenever the nest was threatened by developers.
Jackie died one year and nineteen days after Tamra. Summer has become so somber for me. The beautiful bright sunshine is now the time when Tamra, Jennifer Finch, and Jackie left our world. Three females who soared above. Am I glad Tamra didn’t have to wake up to this news today or am I selfish enough to wish she was here anyway? In this reel Shadow watches Jackie return to the nest. Awhile ago a clairvoyant channeled this message from Tamra about our world of impermanence: “It’s a sad world, but it’s a beautiful world.”
